Who attends MWC Barcelona?

Not surprisingly the majority of attendees at MWC Barcelona are from Europe. These figures have stayed pretty constant over the past years.

However European Telco’s are over-represented here at around 80%, with an under-representation in the rest of the world.

Top 5 Company Types in Attendance

These figures are based on the attendee’s main activity of their company. With 109,674 attendees last year, this means just under 10,000 true Mobile Operators participating at MWC Barcelona.

Top 5 tips to optimise your MWC Barcelona:

  1. Book meetings with NEW leads, not only existing customers/partners. Either invest your own time and research into this, or outsource to Deveo, who specialise in generating leads with relevant decision makers who you would not normally have been able to meet with.
  2. Concentrate on booking meetings with Telco executives attending the event. It seems obvious right? But how do you know who is attending? At Deveo we have +6,000 known Communication Service Provider executives who have attended MWC in the past 3 years in our database.
  3. Knowing when to book meetings is key. 80% of meetings are booked in the 2 to 3 weeks before MWC. Invest your time in these weeks, or with your own schedule so busy at this time, delegate to Deveo to arrange these for you.
  4. Reduce your no-show rate during the event by ensuring both sides have accepted the calendar invite, sending an email reminder the day before each meeting, send a SMS reminder the morning of each meeting and call/SMS immediately those who are late.
  5. Invest in meetings rather than your booth. It is nice to have a large booth, but instead of investing in square metres, focus on meeting new potential business. Perhaps even considering for next year a smaller booth or meeting room only.
